Bimetallic AC/Ag2CrO4/SnS heterostructure photoanode for energy conversion and storage: A self-powered Photocapacitor

The worldwide increase in generation of solar based electricity prompts the essentiality research efforts on development energy storage systems. In this regard, self-powered photocapacitors are keen interest as they can directly convert and store form electrical a single device. This study reports photoelectrochemical capacity novel photocapacitor fabricated with FTO/Activated Carbon (AC)/Ag2CrO4/SnS nanostructured photoanode. Initially, Ag2CrO4 SnS nanostructures were synthesized using simple ultrasonication technique hydrothermal method, respectively. crystallinity, morphology optical properties then studied. XRD patterns indicated orthorhombic structure both SnS. Their band gaps calculated 1.93 1.65 eV, respectively Kubelka-Munk plots. FTO/AC/Ag2CrO4/SnS photoanode was studies, namely cyclic voltammetry electrochemical impedance spectroscopy carried out three electrode system. showed specific capacitance 4782 mF/g at scan rate 10 mVs−1 when device subjected to visible light illumination (1 sun). Hence, heterostructured provides promising path for design synthesis highly efficient harvesting materials photocapacitors.
